The International STEM Program supports an interest in analytical and technical fields of study related to Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics (STEM). The International STEM Program provides an opportunity for student participants to gain hands on, in depth experiences in Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics through local, national and international outward bound educational opportunities.

Student participants will experience a Global Student Leaders Summit-Educational Tour Abroad through EF Educational Tours, which is held annually in a different  location abroad each year and which focuses on some aspect of STEM (science, technology, engineering or math): www.eftours.com/summit

Scholarship Criteria – Low-income students will receive a scholarship to cover the full cost to participate in the STEM Program, which includes the Educational Tour Abroad. (Proof of low-income family status must be provided)

Cost to Participate if not Low-income:
Tour abroad to Amsterdam and Berlin: Global Student Leaders Summit: $5,405 / $95 Deposit (Payment Plans are Available). Plus, International STEM Program supplemental fee: $850 Due Upon Acceptance


The International STEM Program is a student centered and global education centered year-round program with a focus on hands-on, real life experiences as well as global literacy, 21st century skills (global competence, collaboration, critical thinking & problem solving), outward bound educational opportunities, and volunteerism and community service. The program is designed to build self-esteem, broaden perspectives and develop globally-minded, community conscious and solution-oriented leaders, thinkers and doers who become major contributors to their communities and to a global society. www.studentsgoingglobal.org/about-us

The program utilizes local, national and international outward bound educational opportunities, community outreach projects, foreign language tutorials, cultural study programs, internships, virtual tours, group projects, pen pals, videoconferencing abroad, media, technology, mentors, motivational speakers, success coaches, videos, books, movies, documentaries and global education resources, including purchasing a passport, travel abroad tips, safety tips, packing tips and responsible traveling tips to prepare students for a 21st century global economy as well as an educational, safe and worry free trip abroad. The program requires the following:

1) Participation in a Mandatory Student/Parent Orientation upon being accepted into a program
2) The creation and presentation of Group PowerPoint Presentations based on experiences abroad within 3 weeks of return date
3) The creation & presentation of Individual WeShare Videos/www.eftours.com/weshare based on experiences abroad within 4 weeks of return date.
