The Club Global Program at Students Going Global is a year-round, after school global education program, serving Detroit area high school students who are willing to challenge themselves, step outside of their comfort zone and participate in group travel abroad experiences. Travel abroad experiences can be transformative and provide a unique opportunity for young Detroit scholars to gain a global perspective, an appreciation for cultural diversity, a love of travel, exploration and life-long learning and the confidence to realize their unlimited potential and possibilities.

Our unique, innovative and engaging Club Global Program curriculum provides students with significant real-world global education experiences at home and abroad. Our program curriculum is conducive to academic, social and personal growth and rooted in developing critical 21st century skills, including global competence, collaboration, critical thinking and problem solving. Our holistic, student-centered learning approach to education allows students to play a more active role in their learning as they are encouraged to solve problems, ask questions, discuss, debate and brainstorm, which leads to improved critical thinking and problem solving skills, greater retention of subject matter content and a greater sense of independence and personal satisfaction. We engage student scholars in competitions, debates, group projects, experiential learning, problem-based learning, service learning, hands-on global entrepreneurship training, guest speakers, cross-cultural interaction, pen pals abroad, video conferencing abroad, community service, college mentorship opportunities, in collaboration with Detroit area colleges and an Educational Tour Abroad, in partnership with EF Educational Tours. We create a safe, inclusive learning environment where students feel engaged, connected and supported.

At program end, student participants receive a “Global Citizen Certificate” for fulfilling the global education program requirements and participating in an Educational Tour Abroad.

We recruit student participants for our Club Global Program through our community partnerships.
