Transforming Young Lives—One Tour at a Time
Travel Abroad with Us

The International College Bound Program at Students Going Global is a year-round, after-school global education experience designed to prepare students for college and beyond by strengthening academic readiness, expanding cultural and global awareness, and providing guidance through the college exploration, application, and success process.

The program includes an Educational Tour Abroad along with immersive, real-world cultural and global learning opportunities. It serves Detroit-area students in grades 5–12 who are ready to challenge themselves, step outside their comfort zone, and expand their horizons.

Travel has the power to transform. Through these experiences, students gain a broader worldview, develop an appreciation for cultural diversity, and cultivate a lifelong passion for exploration and learning. Most importantly, they build the confidence to recognize and pursue their full potential.

Our innovative and engaging curriculum provides meaningful global education experiences both locally and internationally. It supports academic, social, and personal growth while strengthening essential 21st-century skills such as global competence, collaboration, critical thinking, and problem-solving. Using a holistic, student-centered approach, participants actively engage in their learning through discussions, debates, problem-solving activities, and collaborative projects—leading to deeper understanding, increased independence, and a stronger sense of personal achievement.

Students participate in a variety of enriching activities, including competitions, group projects, experiential and problem-based learning, guest speaker sessions, cross-cultural exchanges, international pen pal connections, virtual global interactions, community service, college mentorship, and the annual Educational Tour Abroad. We are committed to fostering a safe, inclusive environment where every student feels supported, connected, and inspired.

Upon program completion, participants are awarded the Students Going Global International College Bound Program Global Citizen Certificate in recognition of their successful participation in a global education program and educational tour abroad.

We recruit students through strong community partnerships across Detroit.
